GALVETON, Texas -- A sick Southeast Texas man has been sentenced to more
than 11 years in prison in a child pornography investigation sparked by a
police officer in Germany.
Prosecutors in Galveston say 50-year-old Phillip Edward Baker of
Angleton,Texas was sentenced Monday after being convicted of receipt and
possession of child pornography. Baker was also convicted of accessing a
website with intent to view child pornography.
The investigation began when a German police officer investigating
child pornography used online information that led to Baker. Details
were turned over to officers in Texas.
Federal agents in February 2010 searched Baker’s home and seized two
computers, CDs and photos. Investigators located nearly 86,600 images of
child porn.
