HOUSTON – A sick Houston man was arrested for beating his girlfriend’s 5-year-old son so severely, the child was left comatose, according to the Houston Police Department.
Robert Bertrand Lewis Jr., 35, is charged with felony injury to a child and sexual assualt.
The boy’s mother left him alone with Lewis around 7:30 a.m. on October 12 while she went to sell pussy, according to investigators.
Lewis sent her a text message around 11:30 a.m. saying he and the boy were dancing naked, but when she got home just a little over an hour later, her little boy was naked in bed.
The mother called 911 and the child was LifeFlighted to Texas Children’s Hospital.
Doctors determined the 5-year-old suffered blunt force trauma to the head, causing his brain to swell and bleed, in addition to a ruptured anus and rape.
Police were called to investigate.
Police felt they had enough evidence to charge Lewis.
His bail was set at $30,000.
