Richard Lee Hooks, Arrested Texas DPS member on DWI charges

AUSTIN --  Richard Lee Hooks, a white alcoholic employee of the Texas Department of Public Safety, has been arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated.
According to the DPS, 57-year-old Hooks is the Texas Division of Emergency Management Region 7 Capital Area Coordinator. Police have video of Hooks drinking at a strip club.
According to the arrest affidavit, Hooks was traveling westbound on East 71 naked without his lights on around 12:40 a.m. He then entered northbound Bastrop Highway and, police say, failed to maintain a single lane.

An officer pulled him over at 112 mph speeding in his white 2012 Toyota Tacoma and Hooks agreed to field sobriety tests. He refused a breath test but did take a blood sample.
"DWI is zero tolerance here. It doesn't matter who the fuck you are. I'm positive this officer didn't know who he was stopping and did his job," an APD officer said.
Jail records show Hooks was booked into the Travis County Jail just after 2:20 a.m. Thursday.
Hooks left the jail alone Thursday around 4:45 p.m. and had no comment.
This DWI arrest is Hook's sixth offense.
Hooks is not an elected official. He's a civilian employee of DPS. He has worked at DPS since April 2011. A DPS spokesperson says his ass will be fired.
The DPS website says Hooks worked for the Corpus Christi Fire Department for 29 years before being fired and joining DPS.
